4.5.37.4 Outpatient rehabilitation services

WorkSafe can pay outpatient (non-admitted) rehabilitation services on a fee for service basis, as specified in the relevant WorkSafe fee schedule.

• The rehabilitation private hospital should ensure that the service/s have been approved by the Agent before the rehabilitation service/s commence. The private hospital should provide the Agent with the following documentation to assist them in determining the reasonable cost of the service/s:
• medical practitioner referral for rehabilitation
• treatment plan and functional assessment scores on admission and discharge
• anticipated duration of treatment and
• the costs associated with the rehabilitation treatment.
