Stroke injury

Under this legislation, unless inconsistent with the context or subject-matter —

stroke injury means an injury to the brain or any of the blood vessels supplying or associated with the brain, that consists of, is caused by, results in or is associated with any of the following —

  1. any stroke
  2. any cerebral infarction
  3. any cerebral ischaemia
  4. any rupture of such a blood vessel, including any rupture of an aneurism of such a blood vessel
  5. any subarachnoid haemorrhage
  6. any haemorrhage from such a blood vessel
  7. any harm or damage to such a blood vessel or to any associated plaque
  8. any impairment, disturbance or alteration of blood or blood circulation, within such a blood vessel
  9. any occlusion of such a blood vessel, whether the occlusion is total or partial
  10. any consequential physical harm or damage, including neurological harm or damage
  11. any consequential mental harm or damage
