RTW planning

Early and sustainable return to work is a fundamental objective of the WorkCover scheme and employers have specific legal obligations.

An employer is responsible for planning, monitoring and reviewing a worker’s return to work and ensuring action necessary to do this are undertaken.

An Agent also has responsibilities:

  • reminding employers of their obligations
  • assisting the employer and worker to achieve a full and effective return to work outcome and
  • monitoring to ensure RTW planning is implemented against timelines and goals
