Employer

Under the legislation, unless inconsistent with the context or subject-matter —

employer includes —

1. (a) a person —
   1. for whom a worker works or
   2. with whom a worker agrees to perform work —

at the person's direction, instruction or request, whether under a contract of employment (whether express, implied oral or in writing) or otherwise and

2. a person who is deemed to be an employer under the legislation and
3. if the services of a worker are temporarily lent or let on hire to another person by or with the consent of, the person with whom the worker has entered into a contract of employment or apprenticeship or otherwise—the last mentioned person, while the worker is working for that other person and
4. the legal personal representative of an employer who is dead
