6.2.8.4 Calculation of maims
Lump sum entitlements are calculated by multiplying the amount of compensation payable as at the date of the injury by the percentage set out opposite the injury in the Table of Maims. This amount is then multiplied by the percentage loss of the relevant injury suffered by the worker.
For example
Assume that as the result of an injury on 10 November 1993 a worker has a permanent loss of use of the leg assessed at 10%. The percentage in the Table for the loss of a leg is 75%.
The amount of compensation under s98 would be 75% of $93,080 multiplied by 10%, which equals $6,981.
