4.5.8 Community access
The Agent can pay the reasonable costs of community access services under the legislation for eligible workers who, as a result of severe work-related An injury/disease is work related if it arose out of or in the course of employment and the scope of employment. injury or illness, have acquired multiple physical, sensory and cognitive disabilities and need support to access and participate in recreational and leisure activities in their community.
Eligible workers are Community Integration Program (CIP Community Integration Program) workers or workers who have been approved by the Agent as eligible for community access services due to the severity of their work-related injury or illness.
A written medical practitioner request and prior approval is required for these services.
Note: Agents must seek approval from WorkSafe where the worker is not participating in the Community Integration Program.

Community access services are designed to assist eligible workers increase their participation in the community by identifying and responding to their individual needs through Community Access Planning and Community Group Programs. Services may be provided to an eligible worker separately or in combination depending on the needs of the worker.
