Purpose of the role: The Forensic Analyst will be a subject matter expert in forensic analysis and will be responsible for the development of an analytical model targeting non-compliance with OH&S laws meeting WorkSafe’s investigation criteria, to enable the identification and selection of proposed target areas.
This will include an analysis of current strategies and emerging risks resulting in recommendations for future enforcement initiatives.
The Forensic Analyst will also provide analytical support and intelligence to support and enhance current investigations.
Primary responsibilities and accountabilities of this role are:
Interrogation of current data sources and to identify opportunities for targeting investigations and improvements to current approach.
Critical analysis and evaluation of current LSID targeting strategies, systems of work and performance to inform the Investigations Review Committee.
Development of model to target serious breaches of OH&S laws in priority areas and identify emerging risks, complementary to WorkSafe Victoria’s current methodology.
Conduct a pilot targeted enforcement project to test the model according to schedule and time lines and make implementation recommendations.
Support investigation teams with high quality forensic analysis to assist in the selection of matters that should proceed to comprehensive investigations.
Undertake research and provide authoritative recommendations on serious OH&S non-compliance aimed at ensuring effective targeting and enforcement.
Develop effective monitoring frameworks for all initiatives implemented in order to measure effectiveness.
Influences and facilitates acceptance and understanding of strategic enforcement projects across the business and key stakeholder groups.
The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated ability to undertake high level research and analysis using data mining/analysis and business analyst tools within an enforcement environment and the demonstrated ability to interpret and report on complex data issues.
Demonstrated experience in the development, management and evaluation of multi-dimensional projects and strategic programs with an ability to develop and maintain records and reporting.
High level of communication skills (written and oral), including facilitation of groups, the ability to give advice and make recommendations to senior management
A demonstrated ability to interpret data, research and provide authoritative recommendations on strategies aimed at ensuring evidence-based targeting of enforcement activities and continuous improvement.
Excellent planning and organization skills and ability to work to deadlines with changing priorities.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in the analysis field with a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate the delivery of initiatives, including analytical resources, monitoring progress of implementation and performance.
Ability and proven interest in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through thorough and detailed analysis.
This is a full time, permanent position.
The salary for this role is $72,666.00
