The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) creates a right for anyone to access information held by Government organisations within Victoria, including WorkSafe.

The FOI Act applies to all documents held by WorkSafe, including claim files held by our authorised Agents, consultants/contractors engaged by WorkSafe and in secondary storage. This includes documents created by WorkSafe and documents received from external organisations.

Any document can be requested under the FOI Act, this includes handwritten notes, emails with staff names and contact details, data contained in spreadsheets and databases, photographs, basically anything that is recorded.
