6.5.7 Ceasing provisional payments on rejected claims

Where a worker is entitled to provisional payments on a mental injury, this entitlement continues until either the claim is accepted, or in the case of a rejected mental injury claim, for 13 weeks from the date the Agent determined the worker was entitled.

Agent actions

Where, on a rejected claim, the worker is approaching the 13 weeks, the Agent must:

  1. Send the PP cessation reminder letters
  2. Send the PPY3 PP cessation letter to the worker and the PPY4 PP cessation letter to the employer

  3. Contact the worker and employer at week 10/11 from PP commencement to:
    1. enquire about the worker’s return to work (RTW Return to Work) status , and
    2. advise of ceasing PP coverage.
