4.5.50.1 Assess request for travel expenses

To determine reasonable costs of travel consider the:

• the purpose of travel
• the worker’s ability to use modes of transport
• the distance travelled by the most direct route

• the availability of comparable service providers in close proximity to the worker’s residence; whether the worker lives regionally; and

• whether there are any non compensable circumstances.
