4.5.5 Car modifications

WorkSafe can pay the reasonable costs of modifications to a car reasonably required as a result of a worker’s injury or illness to enable the worker to drive or to be transported safely.

If a worker’s car cannot be modified or the worker does not have access to a car, WorkSafe may contribute a reasonable amount to the purchase cost of a suitable car selected by WorkSafe.

A worker is also required to sign a Capital Service Agreement if the payment or contribution is more than $10,000.
