The Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) was established under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. The ARTG is a computer database of therapeutic goods. Therapeutic goods are divided broadly into two classes - medicines and medical devices. A worker's notional earnings (NE) is the greater one of either:
- the CWE of the worker or self employed person (if the person has a CWC and is working) or

A preliminary notice is issued by Centrelink indicating that they have an interest in the worker referred to in the notice and may wish to recover an amount equal to all or part of the amount payable. This notice places an obligation on WorkSafe/Agent to notify Centrelink prior to releasing any weekly payments to the worker. WorkSafe/Agent is to advise Centrelink within seven calendar days of accepting liability for weekly compensation or receiving the notice if liability has been already been accepted, whichever is the later.
The ordinary earnings the worker would now be earning in the same position had no injury occurred.

A Recovery Notice is issued by Centrelink to WorkSafe/Agent once Centrelink have determined the amount recoverable. The recovery notice specifies the amount that Centrelink is seeking to recover and the period that the recoverable amount relates to. A recovery notice legally prohibits WorkSafe/Agent from making any payments to the worker unless they have paid to the Commonwealth the amount specified in the notice.
The probability of the worker not returning to work is known as the risk or risk factor. For example: if a worker is likely to return to work, the claim is categorised as low risk.

The WorkSafe Incentive Scheme for Employers (WISE) aims to secure full or part-time, durable work for workers who cannot RTW with their injury employer by placing them with a new employer. The new employer is paid a wage subsidy for taking on the worker.
