Purpose of the manual

This Manual has been developed by WorkSafe Victoria for use by its staff and authorised Agents who manage WorkCover claims and prepared for the general information and assistance of WorkSafe's authorised Agents. It contains matters of interpretation and policy, however it is not exhaustive.

The primary audience of this document is WorkSafe’s staff and authorised Agentsand self-insurers and their approved third party claims management Agents. The Claims Manual includes information to assist Agents make decisions in line with the legislation.

The Manual is subject to continuous review and subsequent updates will be published on the WorkSafe website as required. If an injured worker and/or employer believe that their claim/s have not been managed in line with the Claims Manual, they should first contact their Agent to discuss their concerns.
